Where Saskatoon Event History Is Made

Opened in 1988, SaskTel Centre has been the home of live music, sports, and other events for Saskatoon’s citizens for more than 30 years. The first event was a WHL game between the Saskatoon Blades and the Brandon Wheat Kings (the final score? Blades win, 4-3). Since then, it has undergone several expansions, adding thousands of seats, luxury suites, and additional amenities.

Hosting hockey, lacrosse and basketball games, national and international events, and a wide variety of world-class concerts, the arena is central Saskatchewan’s meeting place and go-to destination for entertainment.

Entertaining Saskatchewan for Over 30 Years

Some of the world’s biggest stars and musical artists have stopped in for a night or two at SaskTel Centre. Milestone past events include 1989 & 2010 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, six sold-out Garth Brooks concerts in 2016, a two-night stop on Elton John’s 2019 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour, an attendance-record-setting show from Metallica in 2018, and even the Lieutenant Governor’s Centennial Gala for the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in 2005. The list is growing all the time, with up-and-coming artists, rock royalty and Canadian icons alike passing through our halls.

Home Of Saskatchewan's Sports

Home of the Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club (WHL), Saskatchewan Rush (NLL), and Saskatchewan Rattlers (Canadian Elite Basketball League), the arena hosts dozens of sporting events each year. Since the grand opening in 1988, SaskTel Centre has hosted many national and international sporting events, has been the host arena for the Professional Bull RIders Canadian Finals since 2008, has held everything from NHL and NBA preseason games to professional soccer and motorsports.
